First round

First round consist of online test which is a knowledge-based test on the EU, NATO and security issues. It contains multiple choice questions, tasks based on understanding, as well as work with short texts and maps. For the test, you need good knowledge of English.

The test will be completed online on May 29 from 12:00 to 16:00 CET, you will log on into the system and fill in the test during a given period of time. During the test you can use any information sources like books, databases and the Internet. Required skills are therefore the ability to work efficiently with information sources and to work within limited time.

After registration you will receive a password and username, which is needed to log into the system. We strongly recommend you to log into the system prior to the date of the online test to get to know the online application and to try a training test that is available from May 1, 2012. Through the system you will also receive all important information.

The online test can be filled on any computer with Internet connection. The basic system requirement for the browser is either Mozilla Firefox 1.0 (or higher) or Internet Explorer 6 (or higher), an activated JavaScript support, pictures and styles CSS (standard setting). Other browsers will probably show the online test correctly, however we cannot guarantee that.

You will get the results of the online test the next day. If you are one of the best scoring in the online test in your country, you will proceed to the essay competition. We will inform you via email and provide you with further instructions.
